It has been quite some time since a CITO has been held in Nanaimo and the first one that I know of that includes removal of invasive species (and trash removal). We will meet at 9:45 am, April 21, 2018 in the parking lot of the Nanaimo Tourist Infomation Centre which is at the listed coordinates and is at the end of Northfield Road. After signing the log and a brief intro, we will meet with the local Broombusters, at 10:00 am, who will demonstrate the how and where the broom removal will be done. This is a coordinated event with them. They will provide loppers if you do not have any. Please dress in sturdy shoes, a long sleeve shirt, pants (not shorts) and bring gloves with you (leather gloves are best), eye or safety glasses.
At 11:15 am we will meet back at the parking lot to wrap up with thank you's and a draw for prizes. You may rejoin the Broombusters group if you wish - they are there until 12:00 noon. This event provides a virtual souvenir by Geocaching.com upon logging your "attend". If you have physical problems with loppers or lifting, there is always trash to pick up.
