The village hall was constructed in 1898 as a school, but served that purpose for only 10 years because the population of St Lawrence had reduced. This was due to the closure of the coastguard station and Boer War increased taxation which drove away some of the wealthier families and their servants.
It is located at the bottom Seven Sisters Road, said to be named after a group of elm trees planted by a man in memory of his seven daughters.
The cache is not located here, but find the post box below the village hall. On the post box the number of the box is: POAB CDB NOTE: the box has been decomissioned, it used to read PO38208 and St Lawrence was the best village in CDFG. The cache can be found at: N 50 A(B-A).(G/C)DC W001 F(B/C).(B-G)D(G/A)
