Another cache in a series of forgotten (or almost!) cemeteries.
There are many ways to approach this cache, but most involve bush whacking. With a little study of the surroundings (and an older topo map), you can find the road up to the cemetery. There is parking very close by but will require a USFS fee and is not open year round. There is free parking on the other side of the creek that is open all year round.
Be respectful of the area. I can find no information on a decoration day for the cemetery (Fowler Cemetery), but you should probably avoid the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The cache is not hidden in the cemetery; it is in the forest nearby. You will find many older graves with surprisingly well made markers. There is at least one grave of a Confederate soldier that died in the Civil War - there may be more but many of the stones are unmarked or illegible. There are even a few vaults - maybe a few wealthy families in the area - this was the site of a former plantation.
This cache has been marked as per USFS guidelines including the name, GC number, and email address of the owner. It is clearly labeled as a geocache.
