This disguised magnetic nano cache is hidden at the site of a former brick and tile works at Maidenhead Common. You may need tweezers or a pin to extract the log.
The clay beds were mined to make terracotta tiles and decorative items that can still be seen around the town today. The brickworks closed in 1968 and since then the clay pits and surrounding area have been colonised by a wide variety of native flora and fauna, some of which are quite rare. Now managed by the National Trust, the Brick and TIle Works has a small picnic area with 600m or 800m paths to allow people to walk around the site. There is limited Free parking nearby on Malders Lane and the site is close to a number of Maidenhead and Cookham's pubs.
Visit the NT website to find out more about the site, this cache is placed with the kind permission of the National Trust.
