Geocache Description:

Placed along Phase 2 of the Carl "Bud" Schmitt River Trail of Illinois.  Phase 2, completed in October of 1992, extends 1.8 miles along the Illinois River from Spindler Marina in the north to Cooper Park in the south. Approx. 1200 linear feet of the trail is a six-foot wide boardwalk with three large decks overlooking the wetland area adjacent to the Illinois River. Geese, ducks, and even the occasional beaver may be seen along the trail.

At the specified coordinates, you will (hopefully) find a small brass disk.

UPDATE: The Animal Conspiracy has struck, and the original brass disc with the engraved clue (as well as a significant portion of the boardwalk) has been lost to a tree felled by a beaver. To determine the final coordinates, use the number: 245

Divide 128.625 by the number on the disk to get the decimal portion of the minutes for the final latitude: N40° 42.xxx

Divide 54.635 by the number on the disk to get the decimal portion of the minutes for the final longitude: W089° 32.xxx

Thanks to the Fondulac Park District for permission to place this cache, and to Jeepster for the element(s) of this cache that I have shamelessly appropriated from his previous one.
