The Centurion Way is a route for cyclists and pedestrians between Chichester, Lavant and West Dean using the the dismantled Chichester to Midhurst Railway. The name Centurion Way was suggested by a local schoolboy as the path crosses the course of a Roman Road. At it's southern end in Chichester, it joins National Cycle Network Route 2, which heads to Portsmouth and continues west. The route runs between Chichester and West Dean along a section of the disused Chichester to Midhurst railway line and there are opportunities for on-road detours to Fishbourne Roman Museum and the fantastic Weald and Downland Museum.
