For me, challenges, like other caches, can be a mixed bag. It depends on what is being asked for you to complete for a challenge. In this case, I hope that you find this an enjoyable and worthwhile challenge to attempt.
You are asked to travel the US to discover caches placed by pioneers of geocaching that have somehow stood the test of time by sticking around for cachers of today to find. These caches show us what caching was like back in the early days.
You may sign the log at any time but to log the find, you must do the following:
- Find the the oldest cache in at least 10 of the US states, including the District of Columbia.
- Finds on archived caches older than the current active, oldest cache in a state do count.
- Use the challenge checker to verify whether you meet the requirements or not.
The cache is a black plastic tube with log only. As always, bring your own writing instrument. Enjoy!
