Geocache Description:

So much more interesting than a pill bottle by a fence line. It’s an ammo can. In Blanco County; believe it or not, OUTSIDE Round Mountain city limits!

A Confederate veteran, Gideon Thorp settled in this area and prospected for gold. One geologist said "Thorp's arrastre didn't produce even enough gold to feed the horse that worked it."

Some interesting stones to see in this big old graveyard; an Indian fighter, a veteran of San Jacinto, a WW1 draftee, many WW2 veterans, and several “unknowns.” I found 2 photograph stones; don’t see many of those.

I’ve been enjoying the cemetery challenge and finding the cities of the dead. Getting the feeling it’s about time I put something into the system, as a tribute to all the COs who’ve placed caches for me to find.
