One the comments I get most frequently about my puzzle caches (or, at least, one of the comments that can be repeated in polite company) is that it is often difficult to determine what the solver is expected to do. As I result, I am putting out a few puzzles where the objective is clearly shown. You’re welcome!
You are presented with a square grid, with pairs of letters shown. Your objective is to join each pair with a continuous string of the same letters, and to fill the entire grid in doing so.
The strings must proceed vertically or horizontally (not diagonally), cannot cross each other, and every pair of initial letters must be connected. Once you are done, count up the number of each letter that you have added (i.e. don’t count the original pair for each), take these counts in alphabetical order of the letters added and form a multi-digit new number, and enter that number into the provided checker without spaces. If your answer is correct, you will be presented with the final coordinates where the cache can be found.
In the example shown, the number that would be entered into the checker is 43323.
