Our fourth open day at Muiravonside to show others the fun of geocaching.
The Muiravonside Rangers have again asked if we would host another welcome to geocaching event.

The aim of the event is to have fun, meet a few people and to try and encourage others to come along and give geocaching a try in the woods. This will be held on Saturday 18th August 2018, kicking off at 10am and running through until 3pm.
The format will be very relaxed, with an information table about geocaching, set up in the courtyard beside the cafe.
There will be some dummy, muggle friendly, non logable caches hidden around the park for the event. These caches will each have a part to build a small wooden animal. The caches will be on a short trail close to the established paths around the event location. It is anticipated that cachers can take the interested muggles around these in small groups and explain to them how geocaching works. Cacher’s support would be appreciated, we were all newbies once.
Please come along and share your knowledge and stories, and help introduce others to geocaching.
We are hoping to have some new published caches in the park, as well as the existing Bird Boxes trail still being available.
The cafe will be open for snacks, light meals and soft drinks.
The event is wheelchair accessible but, unfortunately, the caches may not be. There are disabled facilities in the park and limited disabled parking is available at event coordinates. The path from the car park to the event is tarmac.
Mobile signal in the park is very erratic so, if you cache with a phone, please download the caches before you arrive at the park.
Please Note: Parking charges have now been introduced to the park. The charge is £1.00 per vehicle and is paid on the way into the Main Car Park where a barrier system is in place. No change is given from the machine but it does take various denominations of coins. Free alternative parking is available at the small Woodlands Car Park, located close to the entrance to the park.
