Geocache Description:

This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid cache. You do not need an ink stamp to log the cache but you do need to find the container and sign the log sheet to get credit for the find. Absolutely no caching after dusk and please be respectful of the cemetery.

The posted coordinates bring you to the sign at Windfall Cemetery. From here you will need to follow the directions to get to the cache. Along the way you will see a few veterans' graves from throughout history. All parts of this cache are within the cemetery. Do not go onto private property as there is a residence near by. There are signs posted at the back of the cemetery indicating the boundary. The best parking is in the retail lot at the corner of RT 18. I do not recommend parking at the water tower. Most of the headstone inscriptions face towards the back of the cemetery.

To begin your search head about 10 paces NW from the posted coordinates to a tall marker for James Reynolds. He has a G.A.R. marker next to his headstone indicating that he was a veteran of the Civil War.

From there, the grave of David B. Dyer is about 12 paces to the SW. Do not walk straight there as it will take you through a planting bed. The Dyer headstone is directly behind a large marker for French and is not hard to find. You will see another G.A.R. marker here.

Your next stop is about 22 paces to the NW. Look for a bronze 1812 veteran's marker. It is next to a headstone for the daughter of Elias Snyder. Her name was Florence. I do not see a marker for Elias here so use Florence as your waypoint.

The last grave on your tour is for Revolutionary War veteran Giles Hickox. It is about 45 paces south from your current location. Giles Hickox died in 1836 at the age of 71. Look for the bronze veteran's marker next to his grave.

The cache is about five feet to the south of this grave at the base of a tree. Please do not take the stamp or ink as they are not a trade items.

There are many other old graves in this cemetery. Take a little time to look around.
