Geocache Description:

The Border Terrier is regarded as one of the oldest terrier breeds of Britain. It was developed by the Robson family in the 1860s. It shares its ancestry with the Dandie Dinmont and the Bedlington Terriers. Its origin lies in the Scotland-England border, hence its name. Originally bred for fox hunting, this dog becomes easily bored and thrives when given something to do. Many excel at the highest levels of obedience and agility competition. Though sometimes stubborn and strong-willed, the Border Terrier is a friendly dog and rarely aggressive. The Border Terrier has a double coat, the undercoat dense and short for insulation, the outer coat wiry, short and dirt-repellent.

Famous Border Terrier owners include James Herriot, David Walliams, Elton John.
