Geocache Description:

Giraffe

This is a challenge cache and the container IS hidden at the posted coordinates. Feel free to come by any time to sign the log, but you need to meet the qualification rules before you can claim the find online. The D/T ratings apply completely to the hide of the physical container.

To qualify for this challenge cache, the total number of favorite points from caches you have found which have ten or more favorite points must equal or exceed 5000 points. One of those caches must have more than 100 points on its own. Another must have 200+ points on its own. A third must have 300+ points on its own. Another must have 400+ points. Finally, one of them must have 500+ points.

In other words, to meet this challenge:

** Add up the favorite points of caches you have found

** But wait, only count caches that have at least 10 favorite points

** Total points must be at least 5000

** One of the caches must have at least 100 points

** One of the caches must have at least 200 points

** One of the caches must have at least 300 points

** One of the caches must have at least 400 points

** One of the caches must have at least 500 points

** All the other caches can have any number of points, as long as each cache has a minimum of 10 points

PGC Checker

Thank goodness there are automated checkers for this sort of thing! Click the image above to use the checker; it should tell you if you qualify or not. Note that it can possibly take up to 24 hours before the challenge checker will acknowledge your brand new finds - if you are a paying member. It could take as long as a week if you're not a paying member.

Please copy the checker output and paste it into your found it log as evidence that you qualified for the challenge.

If you found a cache long ago when it was new, and now it has accrued hundreds of favorite points, that's great! All that matters is how many points the cache has now, not when you found it. All cache types are allowed, even virtuals!

Plaque

Please note that vehicle access to the area is from Road 88.

You can check and see for yourself the number of favorite points on caches you have found. On the geocaching.com website, go to your "dashboard". I usually do this by clicking on my profile picture icon in the upper right corner of the website when I'm logged in. Now on the left side of the screen, under your profile picture, is a list of options. Look down until you find the "logs" option in the GEOCACHES section. Click on that. Next, look on the right side of the screen for a gray box that says, "View geocaches you own or have found". The "have found" words are a hyperlink -- click it. Now you should be viewing a list of ALL geocaches you have logged as found. Click the "heart" column header to sort by favorite points. Now your list should start with the caches that have the most favorite points. You can scan down this list to get an idea of whether you qualify.
