Geocache Description:

A small series which takes in a lovely walk around a local beauty spot. Listerdale woods has long been a favourite of adults and children for many generations.

This cache is the first of the series outside the woods. However in keeping with the series' title we are still in the area known as Listerdale.

Lister's estate was built by local entrepaneur Joseph (Joe) Lister in the 1930's. It stretches from Green Lane and Melciss Road in Wickersley to Brecks Crescent. There are well-over 1000 houses, most of which are still owned and maintained by the company set up by Joe Lister, but some have been sold over the years (as I know having bought one).

The cache itself is very close to my new home and I've placed it at the end of one of the most unique streets in Listerdale. You have only to look at the houses around you and the flashing between the living room and bedroom above to see what I mean. If you fancy a walk, do a circuit and see how many different designs you can spot!!!
