Geocache Description:

The Napier Heston Racer, was a 1940s British single-seat racing monoplane first conceived by D. Napier and Son Ltd., and built by the Heston Aircraft Company Ltd, for an attempt on the World Air Speed Record.

The first aircraft of two planned for the record attempt had its maiden flight at Heston Aerodrome on 12 June 1940, piloted by Squadron Leader G.L.G. Richmond, Chief Test Pilot of Heston Aircraft. The take-off was not without drama and a heavy bump launched the plane prematurely into the air.

Recovering from the abrupt take-off, a preliminary test flight was carried out with gear extended throughout but after only five minutes airborne, the engine overheated causing it to stall at approximately 30 ft above the airfield. The aircraft impacted heavily, with the undercarriage driven through the wings, and the tail broken off. The pilot survived with minor injuries, chiefly burns.

With the destruction of the first prototype, the Napier-Heston programme was discontinued.

At the initial coordinates you will see a 'picture' of the Heston Racer, depicted in brick work. Here record the registration mark of the plane. Call this G-abcd.

Using a=1 through to z =26, calculate the numbers for a b c, and d.

At stage two, look at the inspection cover below your feet, belonging to Thames Water.

Look at the biggest numbers towards the 'middle' of the cover, these are Mefgh and Bjkl
