This is a return of the Three Towers cache which was archived recently due to security watching the original hide location. This time, it's not at the Towers itself, but you get a pretty good view of them!
In 1969, land reclamation work to create 360 hectares of prime waterfront site began at Marina Bay. This reclamation work was completed in 1992 and the reclaimed land forms what is today the Marina Centre and Marina South areas.
On part of this reclaimed land stands the Marina Bay Financial Centre (abbreviation: MBFC), one of the latest additions to Singapore's financial hub. It was designed by New York based architects Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by a joint venture of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited/Hutchison Whampoa, Hong Kong Land and Keppel Land. The entire development was completed in 2012 and the grand opening was officiated by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 15 May 2013.
Although the overall development is a 3.55-hectare mixed use development consisting of three office towers, two residential towers (Marina Bay Residences & Marina Bay Suites) and retail space at Marina Bay Link Mall, MBFC typically refers to the three office building space simply named as MBFC Towers 1, 2 and 3.
Since this is the CBD area, there will still be higher human traffic flow. But I was there during weekday lunch hours, and there are pockets of time when you can certainly retrieve the cache quickly! If you have already done the Art of War series in Kranji, this will be a familiar hide :D
Just behind the cache (if you face the road) is the Promontory @ Marina Bay, which is often used as an event space and public space for activities such as theatres and carnivals. The Promontory is part of the 3.5km Waterfront Promenade surrounding the Marina Reservoir. This area is one of my favourite places in Singapore during sunset, and you can take a stroll down towards Gardens by the Bay to retrieve more caches along the way :)
