The Veterans Council in Kewanee is made up of members of the American Legion, The VFW and the Marine Corps. This group is responsible for the placement of this memorial placed here in the 1990's to honor all war Veterans, including all services. Some of the duties of the Council include Military Rites at funerals, Memorial Day program, Veterans Day Program and raising flags at nursing homes during Nursing Home week.
