This cache is located in Hungry Mother State Park along the lake trail. You can park at the foot of the dam next to Camp Burson. Located off Highway #16 just out of Marion, VA. As you go off the Lake Trail at the bridge the footing is steep, muddy, and loggy along with boggy. It's your decision how best NOT to get your shoes wet or muddy especialy during wet weather. You will come to a barbed wire fence don't go beyond that.
A note about State Park cache placement. In all Virginia state parks you have to have permission to hide a geocache. Stop by the Headquarters building in the park and ask to talk to the official in charge of reviewing the Geocache Placement Application you will have to obtain from them. Let them be aware of your desire to hide and maintain a geocache in the park. Most parks may ask you to “not” make the cache for Premium members to allow the general public the opportunity hunt while visiting the park. All my caches have been placed by permission at Hungry Mother State Park.
