Kyushu is located at the West end of the Japan and faces the continent, and has long played a role as a window for foreign countries. The Kyushu Museum of History was opened in 1973 to clarify the history and characteristics of Kyushu and relocated to Misawa City in 2010. Since then, he has been pursuing various investigations and researches, including the Dazaifu historic Site excavation. The exhibition room exhibits valuable cultural properties that reflect the results of the research. There are many ruins in the city, and the building of the museum is adjacent to the prefecture designated historic Site Misawa ruins.
九州は、日本の西端に位置して、大陸と向き合い、古くから対外交流の窓口としての役割を果たしてきました。 九州歴史資料館は、この九州の歴史とその特質を明らかにするために昭和48年（1973年）に開館し、平成22年に小郡市三沢に移転しました。 以来、大宰府史跡の発掘調査をはじめとして、多角的な調査や研究を進めています。展示室では、これまでの調査研究成果を反映する、貴重な文化財を公開してきました。当館がある小郡市は、多くの遺跡が所在し、館の建物は県指定史跡三沢遺跡に隣接しています。
