State Fact: The town of Lincoln has what may be the oddest Lincoln monument of all, a two foot slice of watermelon on a pedestal. The town was named for Abraham Lincoln, seven years before he became president, and is the only town named for Lincoln while he was still alive. He christened the naming by pouring watermelon juice on the ground.
