This cache is located at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and it takes you to the solar array system that was activated on the grounds on August 2016. This renewable energy demonstration project highlights a 10 kWh solar array that provides energy for the Tom Ridge Environmental Center
On a particularily dark, snowy and dreary day on February 10, 2018 the TREC’s solar array only produced .40 kWh. Compare that number to a bright sunny day on June 22nd 2017 when it produced 63.2 kWh!
Fun Fact: it takes an average of .004 kWh to charge an iPhone.
