This is one of my favorite places to go since I was a little girl. LOTS of changes along the way. I miss the Grandstand, the big barn, and the mile long horse racing track. Lots of memories of family reunions, the fair, cotton candy, footlong corndogs, concerts, picnics, 4H with our kids, feeding the ducks.....and gulls, to name a few. Not many know that the first fair was not held here. In 1868 it was somewhere over by Spring Meadow Lake and then in 1870 they started this Fairgrounds.
I love bringing my Daisy Girl Scouts and their parents here to introduce them to Geocaching because we can find so many and do it all by hiking around the grounds. They even can earn a patch! However caches seem to come and go so we thought we would just add one more to the area for good measure.
This may be a challenge only because super stealth may be required. There are times when this is an extremely high muggle area and times when the only muggles you see have feathers and they won't tell.
Please return to the same spot and hide it as you found it. You will need your own writing stick.
