Geocache Description:

I had driven by this cemetery a few times and noticed there was not a cache placed here. I sent a message to JayJayCache mentioning that we could place one here. What could be better than hiding a cemetery cache on Friday the 13th? Nothing!

The earliest burial in the cemetery (that there is information on) is that on the infant Mary Beatrice Townsend. The inscribed dates on her memorial are "Sept 7,1860 - Aug 7, 1861". The earliest inscribed date of death on a gravestone in on a small stone at the North-East front corner of the cemetery. The inscription is for 'Thomas Watkins who departed this life September 25th 1825, aged 31 yrs'. This indicates a re-burial, probably soon after the cemetery was opened. The stone appears to be the orginal 1825 marker.

The first church building was built in the summer of 1861, on land given by Henry Wyatt and his wife Emma. Both are buried in this cemetery. A memorial for Emma is on a large monument. The present church was erected in 1967. In 2004 a new expansion and renewal of community and worship space were dedicated. The grounds also have a memorial garden.

Please NO NIGHT CACHING. Parking can be found on one of the side streets or at the church.
