It was a sad evening when George left from the Siler City Water Works to head for home.George was very tired from the long shift that he had just put in. As George was driving, he fell asleep and drove off the road at this spot and crashed. When they found him the next day, many of his coworkers shed great, big, water works tears for George. They felt that this site should be memorialized as a remembrance to George, and so it has been done. When you arrive here, be sure to lift George up in honor and memory of him as well.
