A geocache placed to encourage more people to visit the lovely native forest on the tracks above Sunny Grove in Wainuiomata. At this point on the track is a junction where the the Whakanui track continues north to Hine Road or south up the rather steep ridge to the McKerrow track junction. The third track drops down into the valley floor and crosses the bridge at Kitty Corner before coming out at the end of Sunny Grove. The paths are well formed and well signposted on this section of the walk. You will have to go about 10-15 m off the track and upslope directly above the junction to locate the cache.
The forest in this area is a mix of native hardwoods including kamahi, hinau, rata, hard beech and black beech with a few huge emergent rimu.
