ASPEN LAKES WITH THE SISTERS IN THE BACKGROUND
This series of Challenge Geocaches has been placed by the Central Oregon Geocaching Group (C.O.G.G.) and is not meant to be difficult to find. The caches are located on a road with minimal traffic, but cars do come by periodically (mostly during “commute hours”). Park on the side of the road and be careful. It should take only a short time to find and sign the log.
As there is a checker provided, you will know whether you qualify at the time you log. If you qualify on the date you sign the log, then that is the date of your find. If you sign the log sheet before meeting the requirements, just post a note stating that you signed the log and don't meet the requirements, then log your find on the day the requirements have been met.
The 4.5 difficulty rating is based on having to isolate your searching to a specific season and including a variety of cache types in order to meet the requirements; the terrain rating of 1.5 is based solely on this cache location. These challenges are not intended to have a variety of D/T ratings.
The Challenge
(You may already qualify for this challenge)
To qualify for this challenge, you must log a minimum of 1000 caches in the summer months. All cache types count and there are no past date restrictions. However your total count must include:
50 Earthcaches
25 Multicaches
25 Wherigos
25 Letterbox Hybrids
25 Virtuals
and 10 Events… after all – it’s Summertime!
Summer can start on different dates in different regions, depending on beginning and length of temperate weather, use of astronomical or meteorological definitions, or even traditions. For this challenge we will define summer using the meteorological term of the complete months of June, July and August. A geochecker has been added for your use.
You may sign the log prior to completing these requirements and log it as a note. When you have met the requirements, then log it as a "Found" and receive your smiley. As there is a checker provided, you may cut and paste the results in your log just to speed things up for verification on our end. An image of your check mark on the checker is good enough evidence for us.
