Park in the Buzzard’s Roost Picnic Area of Slate Run Metro Park and use your geosense to find this HIPS cache. Bring your own pen and tweezers! While you are here pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic. Kids 15 and younger can fish in the pond, and be sure to save time to play on the playground. Challenge yourself with a hike through the forest or to the wetlands to look for frogs and sandhill cranes. Be sure to check out the other 18 caches that are part of this year's GeoTrail./p>

Have you ever heard that moss only grows on the north side of the tree? Not true! Moss can grow on any side of the tree. What moss really needs to help it grow is water and shade. In the Northern Hemisphere the shadiest side faces north allowing the moss to stay moist and grow and reproduce. In the Southern Hemisphere - you guessed it - the moss grows on the south side of the tree.
