****If this was just a simple "get the data from the memorials" it wouldn't be a 3 Difficulty!!! You have to do something else; if you need easy this is not the puzzle for you. You need to think, read the clues and check the HINT (it's not the librarian's job to help you solve a puzzle).
Library Magic by The Head and The Heart
I love to read. I was the weird kid that was reading instead of having recess, reading while I was walking, reading in a car (that one never turned out that well...), rushing through my class work so I could have time to read a couple paragraphs. I was reading all the time. Books were my escape, my friends, my door to another world ... I passed my love of reading on to my daughter, who as it turns out followed the same pattern in this pursuit of literary knowledge. Funny how that comes to pass. A birthday present to myself, it is only recently that the area opened up that I can finally place the cache I have been wanting to place since becoming a Cacher 5 years ago. I hope you enjoy the puzzle and the hunt for the treasure!

You will need to enter the Library to seek out the container.
Currently (4 April 2018) the Pottstown Library hours (scroll down to the bottom) are as follows:
Monday - Wednesday: 10am-8pm
Thursday and Friday: 10am-6pm
Saturday: 9am-4pm
However, I am not part of the library staff and their hours can change at anytime after publication of the cache, so please check the Library Hours link posted above prior to your visit to avoid disappointment.
The posted coordinates will bring you to a location at the front (Northwest) side of the library. This is where you will need to collect data to figure out how to find the final location. Once you have collected the data, it's up to you to determine how to use that data to make the find of the container.
There are three monuments in this area; for clarity the monument with the eagle is #2, the monument to its left is #1, and the one to its right is #3 - Be careful with your counting and pay special attention to which letter you need, first name or letter versus last name or letter, or word...Good luck!
Monument #1 (When done correctly you will have 3 letters here) ___ ___ ___
• Find the 6th person on the list. You need the Last Letter of the LAST NAME.
• In the SECOND COLUMN of names, find the person with the LAST NAME: SHADE. What is the FIRST LETTER of the FIRST NAME?
• At the top there is a dedication ... a little tricky, but you can do it. Which letter that has a total count of EIGHT (8)? For example there are only two (2) letter "A"; so that's not the letter you are seeking. Another freebie there is only ONE (1) letter "B", so you're not looking for that one either...
Monument #2 (When done correctly you will have 4 letters here) ___ ___ ___ ___
• SMITH and DORANG are the LAST NAMES of two men in the first column, what is the FIRST LETTER of their FIRST NAME?
• Easy one - what is the FIRST LETTER of the FIRST WORD of the inscription?
• SIXTH WORD of the inscription - What letter comes immediately after the R?
• FIRST LETTER of the FIRST NAME, of the person listed in the 18th position of the FIRST COLUMN.
Monument #3 (When done correctly you will have 3 letters here) ___ ___ ___
• Dedication at the TOP of the monument: "In Grateful ... ???" What is the FIRST LETTER of the NEXT word?
• There are TWO WARS mentioned on this Monument. What is the 4th LETTER of the FIRST WAR?
• What is the 5th LETTER of the SECOND listed War?
If you have carefully collected the correct data you should have TEN (10) LETTERS (one for each bullet point)... the rest is up to you to unscramble and figure out how to find this INSIDE the LIBRARY. -- Okay, an extra hint. The order you collect the letters is NOT the order you need. "think library"
The STAFF is aware of the treasure you seek, but they will not help you.
