This woodpecker was evicted from its nest on the Iron King Trail
and joined others that also lost their nests, and the whole flock
headed over to the Prescott National Forest west of Dewey.
To look for this bird, get out your hiking boots, your trail bike, or
saddle up ol' paint, because the trails are closed to all vehicles
over 50" wide, and no side-by-side quads. Some of the new
caches and many of the existing caches have been fenced off
by new grazing-land fences, but all of them are accessible to
hikers.
