Geocache Description:


Welcome to the Island! This is a series of 108 caches dedicated to my favorite TV show, "LOST." This compass in the desert is both a tribute to the show, and a thank you as well. 🤘

The Tempest was a DHARMA Initiative station that produced, stored, and distributed a deadly toxic gas. Its location was about a day's walk north of the survivors' beach camp on the western coast. It was used by the Hostiles during the Purge to annihilate the DHARMA Initiative on the Island. It was since disabled by Daniel and Charlotte.

The cardinal legs of this series of caches are mostly driveable...a passenger car can easily do the eastern and northern legs. The rest is viable with a high clearance vehicle, except for the far western and southern legs. Pinstriping is REAL. A 4x4 can easily do all 4 cardinal legs.

The ordinal legs are all hiking caches. There is minimal bushwhacking. And as always, watch for things that sting, bite and scratch.
