You may feel like you are being watched as you hunt for this cache in Pathfinder Regional Park. The sculpture was designed by John Alderman. In February, 2018 his body was found in Penrose, Colorado and the death was ruled a homicide. As of this writing no arrests have been made.

John Alderman's original art for the Pathfinder Park statue [shows Fremont with a gun and wearing a hat]. The sculptor replaced the gun with a surveyor's transit and omitted the hat. Fremont did his "surveying" by pace and compass, he never used a transit.
Please take the time to read the informational signs on the west side of the statue. Park hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. There is room for small swag and trackables.
