Pakilus į kalną nuo Aleksoto tilto kairėje Veiverių gatvės pusėje yra žymusis Aleksoto turgus. Kalbant apie šį turgų juokaujama, kad „Aleksoto turguje yra visko“ arba „Jei kažko neradai Aleksoto turguje, nerasi niekur“.
Čia didžiausia tikimybė įsigyti naują naminį gyvūną, kai to visai neplanavote. Už penketą eurų susirinkti daržovių dviems vakarienėms. Būtent Aleksoto turgus turėtų būti paskelbtas didžiausiu pastarųjų dešimtmečių Lietuvos istorijos muziejumi po atviru dangumi – kone Rumšiškių įpėdiniu.
Beveik šimtmetį gyvuojantis Aleksoto turgus dažnam kauniečiui tapęs neatsiejama savaitgalių dalimi.

Upon the climb uphill from Aleksotas Bridge, on the left side of Veiveriu Street there is the famous Aleksotas Market. People are joking that "one can find everything in the Aleksotas market" or "If one can not find a needed thing in the Aleksotas market, so you will not find it anywhere."

It is the Aleksotas market which should be held the largest museum in the open air over the past decades in Lithuanian history - almost as a successor of Rumšiškes museum.
