Geocache Description:

Ehh…..What’s Up…..Doc????? is a motorized gadget cache placed at Acker Park in the heart of beautiful Prescott, Arizona.  Acker Park is a charming 80-acre park featuring a 1-mi. hiking loop trail, picnic areas & an open-air theater.

Cache theme is around the infamous Bugs Bunny, both physically and literally!  Also, placed honoring a geo-buddy, “Conejos,” which IS rabbit in Spanish.

A Wild Hare, released on July 27, 1940, is widely considered to be the first official Bugs Bunny cartoon. It is the first film where both Elmer Fudd and Bugs, both are shown in their fully developed forms as hunter and tormentor, respectively; the first in which Mel Blanc uses what would become Bugs' standard voice; and the first in which Bugs uses his catchphrase, "What's up, Doc?"  The cartoon received an Academy Award.

This cache is unique, SO PLEASE CAREFULLY READ ON BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO FIND THIS CACHE.

STEP by STEP DIRECTIONS ARE LOCATED @ THE CACHE IN PVC TUBE.

As with many gadget caches, moving parts can be broken, so slow down and please don’t break anything in your excitement to grab a smiley. 😊

PLEASE NOTE:  Retrieving this cache requires a simple/gentle touch.  DO NOT force in any way!  Do it correctly and the cache will reveal itself s-l-o-w-l-y with little to no effort.  NO TOOLS needed EXCEPT a AA battery.  I repeat, no tools required EXCEPT a AA battery.

Directions located somewhere on the cache will show you the correct battery position(s).  Correctly placed you’ll hear a motorized sound (whirr) and you’re on your way!

A battery has two ends……thus two poles,

Be sure to FIRST use the + correctly or your efforts will be for naught and take its toll.

The cache will soon reveal its hidden inventory,

The Log will appear in all its glory.

Reverse the procedure and away she goes,

Please be gentle here we want it to work for the next good ole’ Joe. (Not TOO far back into the pole).

When returning the log back up………….Please do so ONLY until it disappears above the passageway (you’ll still feel the bottom of the bison tube with your finger AND see the tube when looking into/up the slot.) THIS IS A CRITICAL STEP.  By following these instructions, cache will be playable for the next geo-cacher.

Chris Hosking of the Prescott Parks & Recreation has approved this cache placement with support and co-approval from the Friends of J.S. Acker.

Also, a shout-out to WVTim for sharing this very cool gadget cache concept with the geo community.
