Following in the footsteps of Heinz
WP1, start: N 55° 27.695 E 008° 23.802
Sidste år ved denne tid studerede den unge Heinz til lærer i Hamborg. I dag befinder han sig på en af de tyske stillinger på Fanø – en modstræbende soldat i den tyske hær. Der er en eskadrille britiske flyvemaskiner på vej mod Fanø, og alle mand i bunkerne gør sig klar til aktion. Uheldigvis træder den unge Heinz ud i noget vådt cement på toppen af en bunker, og efterlader (A) fodaftryk i den våde cement. Sirenerne hyler, og Heinz håber, at ingen lagde mærke til, at det var ham, som efterlod sine fodaftryk. I morgen vil de være størknet og tydelige for enhver at se.
WP2: N55 27.693 E008 23.768
Heinz løber op til kanonen for at spørge korporalen om, hvad der skal hentes i ammunitionsbunkeren. Korporalen siger, at Heinz skal skynde sig at hente flere granater. Han peger på de blå markeringer, og siger: ”V.0 (B00)vil give en 0.(B00)sekunders forsinket detonation. Det vil maksimere skaden på målet. Afsted!” Heinz skynder sig ned ad trapperne. Undervejs tæller han (C, ulige tal) trin, ned til indgangen og fortsætter over til ammunitionsbunkeren via det netværk af løbegange som forbinder alle bunkerne.
WP3: N55 27.683 E008 23.752
På vejen over til ammunitionsbunkeren, stopper han ved morterbunkeren for at spørge sin bedste ven, Peter, om han har brug for ammunition. Peter, som har god humor svarer: “Heinz, dette er en morter bunker. Med mindre vi har planer om at bombe Navigationsskolen som ligger (D)m væk", Peter peger på skemaet på væggen, "så har jeg ikke brug for ammunition nu. Kom nu afsted!”
(Desværre er bunkeren blevet lukket i 2022 pga vandalisme, så den er kun tilgængelig på guidede ture. Se foto med oplysninger nedenfor)
WP4: N55 27.671 E008 23.850
Heinz skynder sig ned i Ammunitionsbunkeren og fortsætter gennem (E) hvælvinge, helt ned bagest for at hente den ammunitionen, som han har fået besked på. Det ser ud til at blive en lang og hård nat med at slæbe granater i Stilling Nord.
WP5: N55 27.658 E008 23.829
Efter denne begivenhedsrige aften, slutter Heinz sig til sine kammerater i det lille køkken for at lave en velfortjent kop te. Han er lettet over, at ingen er kommet til skade i nat, og tager alle (F, ulige tal) trappetrin ned til køkkenet i et enkelt spring. De unge soldater beslutter sig for at tage en pause fra aftenens stressende begivenheder, og sniger sig væk til et mere roligt sted i stillingen.

Following in the footsteps of Heinz
WP1, start: N 55° 27.695 E 008° 23.802
This time last year Heinz was a young student studying to be a school teacher in Hamburg. Now he finds himself running about a bunker emplacement in Fano, a reluctant soldier in the Germany army. There is a squadron of British planes approaching and the bunkers are getting ready for action.
Unfortunately, Heinz has sprung onto the wet concrete roof of a bunker and left (A) footprints imprinted on the wet concrete. As the sirens wail Heinz hopes that no one has seen him leave his foot marks which will be solidified by the morning for all to see.
WP2: N55 27.693 E008 23.768
Heinz runs up to the gun and asks the corporal what he should bring up from the ammunition bunker. The corporal tells Heinz to get more shells quickly. He points to the blue figures and says V.0.(B00) will cause a 0.(B00)seconds delay in the detonation. This will maximize the damage on its target. Go now!
In a hurry Heinz takes the (C, odd number) stairs down to the entrance and continues to the ammo bunker via the network of trenches that connects all the bunkers.
WP3: N55 27.683 E008 23.752
On the way to the ammo bunker Heinz pops into the mortar bunker to ask Peter his best friend if he need any shells. Peter who has a wicked sense of humor replies,
“Heinz this is a mortar bunker, unless we are planning to bomb the navigation school (D) meters away", Peter points at the chart on the wall, "I won’t be needing any ammunition. You better get going.”
(Unfortunately the bunker has been closed in 2022 due to vandalism. It will only be accessible with guided tours. See photo with information below)
WP4: N55 27.671 E008 23.850
Heinz runs through the (E) archways to the very back of the ammo bunker and starts collecting the shells for the guns as instructed. It looks like it will be a long hard night ahead carrying shells around the emplacement.
WP5: N55 27.658 E008 23.829
After the eventful night, Heinz joins his friends in the tiny kitchen to make a well earned cup of tea. He was relieved that there had not been any casualties tonight and in a good mood he takes the (F, odd number) stairs in a single leap.
The young soldiers then decide to take a break from tonights stressful event and sneak away to a more peaceful part of the emplacement.
