This cache is in honour of CoalBranchKid and his awesome QR series!! If you were lucky enough to do this series then you’ll know what I’m talking about. And if you remember the series you will realize that this cache is hidden at one of the spots he used in the series. The hide was very clever so I had to borrow his set-up so I can’t take all of the credit.
PLEASE NOTE: The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates. These coordinates are where you should go to start your adventure.
This is a letterbox hybrid geocache so after you find your way to the starting point put away your GPSr, have a look around for any clues and follow the directions in the following poem. Have fun!! (P.S. If you wish, bring your stamp to stamp the log book and stamp your journal with the stamp provided. Make sure you leave the stamp in the cache! If you don't have a stamp then you can just sign the log book as you would with any other cache.)
Also, please be gentle with the mailbox and don’t pull on the chain. Just lift the mailbox and reach inside and remove the plastic bag. This might be easier for kids as they have smaller hands so bring a kid along. (ie. KID RECOMMENDED!!!) Inside the bag is an easy puzzle box which contains the log book and a pencil. Please also be gentle with the puzzle box and don’t pull too hard. The lid will open very easily once you move it to the right position. Afterwards, please put everything back the way you found it.
THANKS!!
This lonely signpost
is the start of your quest,
park near here
as walking is best!
Don’t be a Savage
walk towards the sunset,
stop at the creek
so your feet don’t get wet.
Stroll along the creek
but which way should you go?
Look at the water
and walk with the flow.
When you get to a bridge
cross it you should,
the trolls are all gone
so you will be good.
At the end of the bridge
is a yellow sign,
go towards his drunk twin
and you will be fine.
Continue on the path
go around the big bend,
don’t stop for a rest
you’re so close to the end.
Look to the left
there will be a clearing,
where the trees start again
the cache you’ll be nearing.
The mailbox is hanging
in a stump to the right,
the stump is quite tall
it is close to head height.
