Raccoons are solitary animals and omnivores. They are opportunistic bandits who really love to steal marshmellows & cheese danishes, just ask nhqueenb about our camping stories. They are 9.1-12" tall, 16-28" long and 7.7-20 pounds. Our bandits were definitely little heifers! Raccoons have a life span of 2-3 years and a top speed of 15 mph. The gestational period lasts 63 days producing 1-7 babies, with 3-4 being most common.
