Geocache Description:

A fairly quick cache adjacent to the Squannacook River in Towsend, MA.  This cache provides a spectacular view of a railroad trestle bridge that was used on the Greenville, NH spur of the Boston & Maine Railroad.  This segment of track started in Ayer, MA and continued through Groton, Townsend, Mason before ending in Greenville.  Much of the rails and ties of the original track are still preserved throughout this railway in Townsend.

Getting to this cache requires traversing down an approx 15 foot moderately sloped embankment.  Because of this, this cache may not be fully suited to all small children.

From the parking area, access the railroad bed behind the stack of tree trunks to begin your search.  Good luck!
