This is the second of a short series of puzzle caches that are developed around some wordplay. I will provide some step by step directions that should make it pretty straightforward, but take care because the work involved can be tedious.
Step One: Do some on-line research about the band The Psychedelic Furs. Identify an album the band released with a repetitive, communications themed title. Identify a song on the album with a two word title where removing the space between the two words creates one word. The word is notable because it can apply to two storeys without being redundant.
Step Two: You are going to assign a numeric value to each one of those letters in the word created from the two-word song title from Step One. We are going to assign a value to every letter in the alphabet, where A = Zero and Z = 25. For example, the word MASK would have the following values: 12 - 0 -18 - 10. You should now have a unique value for each letter in your word from Step One.
Step Three: Perform the following calculations to get the 10 digits needed for the cache location, where "1L" refers to the numeric value of the first letter (for the example MASK, "1L" = 12, then "2L" = 0, etc):
1. L10 - L3
2. L5 - L2
3. L9 - L4
4. (L9 + L1) - L4
5. L6
6. L7 - L7
7. L2 - L3
8. L2 - L10
9. L11 - L3
10. L1
Your answer will be: N 38 XX.XXX W 077 XX.XXX
