ÄMM (Äntu Metsa Matk) seeria tutvustab teile Äntu-Nõmme looduse õpperada. Rada paikneb metsarikkas oosistikus Väike-Maarjast 7-10 km lõuna ja kagu pool põhiliselt Äntu maastikukaitsealal. Piirkonna järvestikku kuulub seitse Äntu looduslikku järve. Ala kuulub Pandivere lubjatoiteliste järvede valdkonda. Piirkond pakub lisaks veekogudele huvi ka pinnavormide poolest. Järved asuvad siinsete põhja-lõunasuunaliste ooside ja nendega põimuvate mõhnade vahel.
Vasakule jääb eramets, paremale riigimets. Talumetsade tagastamisel tuli vanad piirikivid üles otsida ja metsa uued krunte eraldavad sihid raiuda. Riigimets jaotati kvartaliteks ja sihid rajati juba tsaariajal. Kvartalid on 550 X 450 meetri suurused ja enamasti põhja-lõuna ja ida-lääne-suunalised. Riigimetsas on hea nende järgi orienteeruda. Kvartalisihid on metskondade poolt alati korras hoitud, et metsa paremini majandada, aga ka tulekahjude korral kahjutulele juurde pääseda.

Äntu Forest Hike series introduces you Äntu-Nõmme nature studies trail. The trail is located in a thickly forested part of the Äntu nature reserve. Situated 7–10 km south–south-east of Väike-Maarja, the trail passes by seven natural lakes and an artificial one (a reservoir) in Äntu and three artificial lakes in Nõmme. Along the trail you will see important historical and literary places, as well as Punamägi hill, which was home to Southern Virumaa’s biggest stronghold, Agelinde. The trail also introduces limestone production and slate sites in the ‘Pandivere Slate Nation’.
Enjoy the beautiful nature. You can find lots of cowberries, bilberries, even bearberries here. The ground is covered with moss and long stalks of interrupted club moss here and there. The forest is full of cheerful bird song in spring and summer. Elks, wild boars, hares and roes live here.
