Twentse landschap


Het Twentse landschap is adembenemend mooi. Van uniek natuurgebied tot uitgestrekt veengebied. Terug in de tijd; ooit wandelden hier de mammoet, de wolharige neushoorn en het laatste reuzenhert. Sterker nog, ooit was dit gebied zee, getuige de walvis- en haaientanden die af en toe nog gevonden worden. Nu is het unieke Twentse land een bonte verzameling van bijzondere landschapselementen. Zin in bos, heide, weide, beekjes en bronnen? Twente heeft het allemaal!




The Twente landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. From unique nature reserve to extensive peat areas. Back in time; the mammoth, the woolly rhinoceros and the last giant deer even walked here. In fact, once this area was sea, witness the whale and shark teeth that are still found here today. Now the unique Twente country is a colorful collection of special landscape elements. Forest, heath, meadow, streams and springs. Twente has it all!

Textiel




Textiel is letterlijk ”al wat geweven is”. Het woord is afgeleid van het Latijnse woord ”texere” dat weven betekent.

Zijde


Zijde is een natuurlijke substantie die wordt afgescheiden door bepaalde insecten en stolt bij contact met de lucht. Het bekendst voor haar productie is de zijderups (Bombyx mori), de larve van een vlindersoort. Er zijn ook bepaalde spinnen die geschikt zijn voor de zijdeteelt.

Textiles




Textiles are literally “all that is woven”. The word is derived from the Latin word “texere” which means weaving.

Silk


Silk is a natural substance that is secreted by certain insects and solidifies on contact with the air. Best known for her production is the silkworm (Bombyx mori), the larva of a butterfly species. There are also certain spiders that are suitable for silk cultivation.
