Ok, here it is 2018 version of Carry Yer Own Camping Camping.........Back to basics style!!!

This year’s event will start promptly at 1930 on Saturday 7th July 2018 and will officially end at 2030. These times have been set to enable people to put in a long day’s geocaching on the open moor prior to the event and to allow those not intending to eat at the event or stay overnight time to get off the moor afterwards. It is not a “camping” event. It is not mandatory that one camps or stays overnight to qualify to make an “attended” log.
Our annual competition will continue! A prize will be given for the most obscure, entertaining and least useful item brought to the event. Previous prize winners have included a water bottle shaped water butt, a working standard lamp with shade, a toy plastic egg whisk and bowl, a wooden rolling pin, a complete Witch and Two Wizards’ tent and camp site, a dog-barking door chime, Henry the Hoover, a broken rotary clothes line, an unreliable 32” TV set and a Dragon's head The prize will be awarded to the person who brings the “MOST OBSCURE, ENTERTAINING AND LEAST USEFUL” item to the event. Judging for this competition will be by a committee consisting of everybody present who has signed the log book, including the competition entrants. There is no appeal procedure!
There are no facilities, no electric plug in's, no showers no toilets, and nowhere to park those tin tents..........it's just what you can carry!
If you can get your tin tent there..then fair play, you can make breakfast for all the campers!!!. However, there is a plentiful supply of cold water (rain and/or river) at no extra charge. Put simply, if you want it you must bring it with you!
As in all previous years, we will leave the place tidier than we find it!
