6 Big Guys and 1 Girl is back, and its bigger and badder than before. If you've been here before, c'mon back, and bring some extra help.
Named after the team that we required to put this GC in place. I recommend you come with a team capable of moving very large weight. Recommended procedure is to flip it over once, retreive the small container, write your note, reinstall, and then flip it back. You'll have to move fast because the trail is busy. it can take about 4 to 8 minutes if you've got the strength, people, and all the right gear. Could potentially take you much longer.
Don't try to do this yourself, you'll get a hernia.
Be safe, use appropriate PPE, remember to clean up your mess, and cleanup and remove any gear, props, or assorted doodads you used.
Sandy Hills is an amazing trail network just outside Elmira. Named after the sandy soil, which you can see through the pine needles that partially cover the trails. The plantations include tamarack (rare around Elmira), jack pine, eastern hemlock, and white pine. We've hiked these trails in winter, and they've always been packed down enough that we don't need snow shoes or skies. In spring there is maple syrup tapping at east edge of woodlot. Great place for mountain biking, mostly wide trails and some single track. The GC has just enough room for paper roll, so bring your own pen.
