. . . about the prickly pear cacti out here, especially if you have your dog with you--there is a lot of it and the thorns are longer than the nopals or pads (that's what the "leaves" are called). I did my best to keep the caches away from it but I did pick up a few of the secondary spines.
This container and hide are very representative of what the rest of this segment of the trail (I call it the "Fine Fence" leg) will look like (although the covering rocks are rather small right here). The next leg I call "Uplifting Views", because when you look up views are lovely, and the last segment I think of as "The Road Back". The segments divide the Power Walk roughly in thirds. The types of fences will change, but just keep following them! (Please do NOT cross the fences -- the other side is private property.)
