[Bluebirds and Meadowlarks and ???Parakeets??? Oh my!]
This is a great spot for birdwatching! I walked this trail twice while placing, tweaking, & double-checking my caches and both times I kept getting distracted by the birds.
The bluebirds seem to especially enjoy this fenceline. I'm not sure there was ever a moment when I couldn't see a bluebird. I get excited to spot that flashy blue! I noticed that the females let you get closer with your camera than the males.
The song of the meadowlarks was probably even more distracting than the eye-catching color of the bluebirds. I love hearing them, with all the different calls they have -- the serenade made a lovely component of the walk.
I also saw hawks (defending their territory), doves, cranes, partridges, and eagle, what I think was a wild parakeet, several more I couldn't identify, and all the usual backyard cast of characters. Bring your binoculars if you're into birdwatching!
