This is not a drive by cache. In fact, you will need to make a bit of an effort to get this cache in hand.
There are two ways to reach this cache. The first is to park at the very end of Sailors Grave Road, walk to the actual grave and from there take the track over the hill to Otara Bay. This beach has the beautiful pink sand that is found on many Coromandel beaches. It is safe for swimming most of the time. So, have a swim while you are there. The beach is often isolated and sometimes there may just a few (some nude) people enjoying the location.
The second way to reach this cache is to come down the Lynch Stream Track. This will appeal to trampers and will take a couple of hours to complete.
The cache is small and hidden at adult eye level. Should be an easy find after all the effort of getting there. Enjoy!
