We will however utilise the stump and cache contents and go on to bigger and better things in the very near future. How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:


This is a night time multi-cache which can only be located at night. It is a long cache with several stops, however it may be broken down and completed step by step but must be done in order. You will need mosquito spray and a good torch. It is preferable to do this one in groups of 2 or more. The locations you explore we hope you find as enjoyable as us. We hope to take you on a mystical journey through the beautiful paths of Marcoola. You will retrace a short journey from a Dwarf Steward named Fommack Longshaper. Lonshaper stole some magic stones from a local druid named Urkez

Parking - You park at the parking location and you will see the entrance to the Eerie Oak Woodlands. When you turn on your torch, you will see some glowing eyes watching. Once you enter the woods, follow the paths. If you check around you will see glowing eyes. These are the eyes of the Guardians watching you from the trees. They are generally invisible, however you can see their eyes glow from a torchlight

Follow the paths where the eyes watch you, until they watch you no more. Find the three reflective dots located on a tree and you will then search for a key. Locate the key and go to the co-ordinates on the key. Not all keys are keys!

Second Stage - The next stage is a good walk away. Once you get to the co-ordinates, you will need to turn back. You will find you didn't watch your back and the guardians have returned. Follow the eyes once more to a haunted forest. It is a fair walk and there are muggles about! Remember to enter the Elderberry forest through the high pillars only! The eyes will draw you deep into the forest. The Guardians will stop watching and you will see a tree with three! Check below the knee for the lost key! This will be about 5 meters off the path. Locate this and it will explain what happened in the forest and why you need to leave NOW!

Stage 3 - Quickly get back on the path and look for a trail left by the Steward. You must cross one bridge not two to stop the guardians following you. Check with your torch for tell-tale trail reflectors. Follow them through the alley and on as they head back into the Eerie Oak Woodlands towards the ocean. You will again need to use discretion as muggles are about. This trail will seem to lead forever, but remember stay on the paths and push on... It's about to get interesting. As this trail ends you will see multiple dots in the 3 spots formation. Leave the path and head into the woods. Its not far, about 10 meters. nearby, you will find a tree with a red reflector starburst. This was once the site of a hidden button, which operates a chime. Unfortunately vandals have removed several buttons and chimes so check the coordinates and we will go straight to the next clue.

Stage 4 -You find something? You are looking for a small container near the given co-ordinates leaning at the base of a tree. This contains the co-ordinates to the Stewards secret stash. You will need a piece of wire, tweezers or similar to remove note from inside tube. Be sure to unscrew the correct way.

Stage 5 - Again it is a fair walk to the next location. Once you arrive at the final co-ordinates use discretion. There are muggles about! You are looking for a large container well hidden inside a fake stump. Not all stumps belong! Cache has a log book and pencil. Also has plenty of swaps and info plus a Druids magic stones so be sure to take one with you. Don't be greedy and room for swaps. Be gentle and leave as you found it.

Exit - Continue down the path for a short walk and you are back at your parking spot.
