Geocache Description:

#65 Sunshine Coast traffic signal box art trail

The unassertive traffic signal box is often overlooked as it sits at intersections and roadsides in metropolitan areas. Urban Smart Projects, a community art initiative, has made it their mission to bring colour and art to cities and help fight graffiti. (www.urbansmartprojects.com)

Follow this trail around the Sunshine Coast and admire the original designs reflecting the vibrancy, character and stories of the community. I have included a statement from each artist about their artwork. The geocaches on this trail should be fairly quick to find to prevent cachers being too conspicuous searching in these high muggle traffic zones.

You may also like to sing Monty Python’s song, “I like Traffic Lights” on your way to keep you in the mood. (www.montypython.net)

I like traffic lights, Although my name’s not Bamber.

Natural Beauty – Body & Environment – Watching the World– painted by Jody Horne – April, 2009. Sometimes we just sit and watch. In those times new things, joys, people are noticed and appreciated. Take the time to sit, toes entangled in the grass and eyes wide open!

Find the signal box at the listed co-ordinates and collect some information from your surroundings.

A = third digit in the signal box identification code

B = number of letters in the name of the river that you can see from the signal box

C = twenty divided by the number of pink flowers on the back of the signal box

D = number of people in the original painting on the front of the signal box (now painted over, so have a look at the photo in the gallery)

E = number of Ns in the name of the street heading south from this intersection

F = number of orange flowers on the back and sides of the signal box (still visible) plus one

The cache is at S26⁰ 38.ABC   E153⁰ 04.DEF

You are seeking a 500mL container in a hidden nook, a short walk from the signal box. If you have a phobia of arachnids, you may not like this spot as it is well guarded with webs. Please try not to disturb the inhabitants while you search – this is their home. If you duck down low, you should make it through unscathed. The hide is out of sight of the footpath and road, but use your usual stealthy skills. Version #2 now no room for swaps and bring your own pen.

Congratulations to rbutto for FTF!!!
