JARVIS90 – The local entrepreneur in the small village of Egam Newby, Len Jarvis is a farmer, dairyman, butcher, Church Warden and occasional cacher. He owns the field being used as a campsite for the 10th Anniversary UK Mega Event - Yorkshire 2018. He has a long-running feud with the Verger over a number of issues, including:
(1) customers for his farm shop parking their cars outside the church gate opposite the shop. The Verger says they are an obstruction and wants double yellow lines painting there.
(2) Jarvis90 knows the Verger sabotages his caches, particularly the church micro, placed with the Vicar’s permission, in the churchyard.
(3) Jarvis90 provides the sheep that are used to “mow” the grass in the churchyard. The Verger complains about them leaving deposits on the church path and wants them tethered.
Jarvis90 wants to diversify further and created a campsite in one of his fields. He sees the Mega as a means to progress this plan. The Verger opposed all Jarvis90’s actions and had reported him to the district planners and National Park Authority for unauthorised change of use of the land.
