Pheasants like social interaction while foraging for food & roosting together during the Winter months for warmth but live mainly solitary lives. Pheasants average between 1.1-6.6 lbs, 21-34 inches long & a wingspan 28-34 inches. When cruising along they fly between 38-48mph, however if they’re being chased they can travel as fast as 60mph. Pheasants are more likely to be eaten by a predator than to die of old age or disease. The average life span is one year. They have a gestation period of 23 days producing 12 eggs. A pheasant will eat just about anything but their main food source is seeds & oats.
