Fern Gully
On my first experience walking through this park all I though of was the 1992 movie “Fern Gully” so the name of the cache was obvious to me!
The trees in the park are beautiful, graceful and majestic. I come here to clear my head and forget about the woes of my day and the daily battle ground called “I95”. I almost forget that I am in the midst of civilization when visiting, it feels and looks surreal.
While the majority of the journey to the cache is paved, once you reach the observation deck, you will need to leave the path and climb down the hill, cross the (small) ravine, and follow the sandy path off the North side of the overlook about 25 feet. You may encounter some water or marshy ground under the observation platform during rainy season. GPS is guaranteed to bounce around so fine tune your Geo-senses.
